High-order central WENO schemes for 1D Hamilton-Jacobi equations

Abstract

Summary In this paper we present the first fifth-order central scheme for approximating solutions of one-dimensional Hamilton-Jacobi equations. The main ingredient in this scheme is a central weighted essentially non-oscillatory reconstruction in space. The expected behavior of the scheme is demonstrated in several numerical examples.
