Abstract

Self-organization mechanisms of producing fractal distributions in the real world are reviewed showing several examples. Then we extend our subjects of research to the information world which are realized recently by the network of high performance computers. We find that basic quantities in the information world tend to follow fractal distributions, such as file sizes, elapsed CPU times for various jobs and density fluctuations of packet traffics.
