Abstract

Economic agents and organizations have to decide and act under uncertainty. This paper examines how economic policy can support private individuals’ choices even under very uncertain or ambiguous conditions. I discuss various approaches, in particular the new macroeconomic approach of robust control. Considering the role of information and coordination problems in general as well as the model uncertainty of politicians in particular, this approach is here considered as a variant of “Post Walrasian economics”.
