Abstract

Zusammenfassung Der neue Weg sollte schnurstracks geradeaus führen. Ziel war es, Nachwuchswissenschaftlern mit einer neu eingeführten Stelle bereits in möglichst jungen Jahren einen planbaren und sicheren Weg zu einer Professur auf Lebenszeit zu bahnen. Gelingen sollte das Vorhaben, indem ermöglicht wurde, nach Promotion und Postdoc-Phase auch ohne Habilitation bereits weitgehend unabhängig zu forschen und zu lehren. Würde sich der Nachwuchswissenschaftler auf der neuen Stelle bewähren, sollte ihm die direkte Übernahme nach Ablauf der Befristung in Aussicht gestellt werden („Tenure Track“).
