Abstract

Zusammenfassung Intellectual Property Strategien sind zunehmend auf den Schutz von Dienstleistungsinnovationen gerichtet. Erstaunlich aber ist, dass lediglich 50% der Unternehmen für den Schutz von Dienstleistungen durch gewerbliche Schutzrechte sensibilisiert sind. Der Schutz von Dienstleistungen und Services ist ein relativ neues Phänomen, insbesondere für europäische Unternehmen. Recherchen haben aber gezeigt, dass sich das ursprüngliche Übergewicht angloamerikanischer Institutionen in Europa etwas ausgeglichen hat. Anfang des Jahrtausends gingen am Europäischen Patentamt noch 75% der Patentanmeldungen im Banken- und Versicherungsbereich auf Unternehmen aus den angelsächsischen Ländern USA, Kanada und Großbritannien zurück. Nur 10% aller Patentanmeldungen stammten von europäischen Unternehmen (Bader 2006). Mittlerweile haben die Europäer deutlich aufgeholt (Abbildung 1-1).
