Abstract

Zusammenfassung Innovationsmanagement plant, steuert und kontrolliert die Veränderung und Erneuerung der Organisation. Dabei geht es nicht zuletzt um die optimale Gestaltung von Innovationsprozessen. Im Gegensatz zu späteren Prozessphasen wird der Startphase erst jüngst höhere Aufmerksamkeit geschenkt (Reid/de Brentani 2004, S. 171). Auch wenn die Aktivitäten und Rollenverteilung zur Durchsetzung einer Innovation am Markt und im Unternehmen wichtig sind, so wird dabei vernachlässigt, dass sich das Management von Innovationen nicht allein mit einem Durchsetzungs-, sondern auch mit einem Entstehungsproblem konfrontiert sieht (Gemünden 2001, S. 413). Ideen müssen entdeckt werden und brauchen einen Startimpuls, um erkundet zu werden – oder in anderen Worten: Innovation bedarf der Initiative (Shane/Venkataraman 2000, S. 222).
