Abstract

Zusammenfassung Innovationen können in sehr unterschiedlichen Bereichen eines Unternehmens stattfinden. Dabei richtet sich der erste Gedanke natürlich auf das Kerngeschäft mit den Produkten eines Unternehmens. Historische Beispiele wie die Erfindung des Penizillins oder selbstklebender Notizzettel lassen Fehler als Innovationsfaktoren denkbar werden. Doch der Anteil an solchen zufälligen Innovationen in Unternehmen ist heute ausgesprochen gering. Innovationen bedürfen heute meist einer gezielten langjährigen Forschung und Entwicklung. Insbesondere im Bereich der Hochtechnologie haben Fehler als Ursache einer Innovation meist sehr wenig miteinander zu tun. Hier sind die Entwicklungs- und Produktionsprozesse so komplex, dass nur gezielte Planung Innovation vorantreiben kann. Doch eben diese komplexen Entwicklungs- und Produktionsprozesse mit den vor- und nachgelagerten Aufgabenketten innerhalb eines Unternehmens machen klar, wie stimmig Arbeitsschritte ineinander greifen müssen, um Innovation zu ermöglichen.
