Abstract

In accordance with the objective of this dissertation to investigate, under conditions of a globalized economy, the phenomenon of corporate cultural self-interrogation and modernization within international enterprises through the cultural profile of German subsidiaries in Russia, Chapter 4 is designed to analyze the host-country environment as a factor of socio-cultural influence. The current chapter aims to examine Russian national characteristics and the historic dimension of German-Russian cultural and economic relations in order to explain the challenges of global-local adaptation of German firms and adjustment of corporate culture within Russian subsidiaries.
