Abstract

Zusammenfassung Nachdem der Fußballclub Real Madrid zwischen 2000 und 2006 nicht weniger als 756 Millionen Euro für neue Spieler ausgegeben hatte, und dennoch seit 2003 ohne Titelgewinn blieb, kam es im Team immer häufiger zu Zerfallserscheinungen. In der Presse meinte man schon, dass „Real keine Mannschaft mehr sei, sondern ein Haufen zerstrittener Diven.“ „Dass bei Real Madrid die Nerven blank lagen, [sah man auch beim englischen Superstar] David Beckham: [gegen FC Getafe] holte er einen Torjäger… so brutal von den Beinen, dass er dafür die Rote Karte sah. Wie bei der 0:3-Heimniederlage gegen Barcelona [zwei Wochen zuvor], zeigte Real [überdies] auch gegen … Getafe Chaos-Fußball. Nach dem Motto „Ronaldo schießt die Tore, Casillas rettet den Sieg“, waren der brasilianische Stürmer und der spanische Nationalkeeper erneut die besten Spieler auf dem Platz…. [Während der gesamten Spielzeit hatte Real aber nur] 31% Prozent Ballbesitz.“
