Abstract

Zusammenfassung Während Kinder, die sich im Unterricht engagieren und gute Noten bekommen, schnell als besonders begabt eingestuft werden, liegt häufig der Gedanke fern, bei Kindern, die im Unterricht stören, unaufmerksam sind und nur mittelmäßige Noten erzielen, eine besondere Begabung zu vermuten. Beide Einschätzungen können jedoch falsch wie richtig sein, was gerade für die Kinder, deren Begabung verkannt oder falsch interpretiert wird – in der Regel werden diese Kinder als „underachiever“ bezeichnet –, schwerwiegende Folgen haben kann.
