Abstract

Over the past years, organizations face unprecedented competition, forcing them to offer exceptional levels of service, at whichever sector of the productive business process they find themselves. For this reason, they began to study, analyse and modify their business processes from a BPM (Business Process Management) point of view, in order to improve their products and to be more and more efficient. Our research evolved from the study of the small ad medium manufacturing industry domain, aiming to construct generic building blocks which can be composed to represent the original processes. Using pre-built building blocks allows to raise efficiency and effectiveness, encouraging flexibility and promoting reuse inside the analysis, design and implementation phases.
