Abstract

Zusammenfassung Während bisher stets Funktionen in einem festen Gebiet der funktionentheoretischen Ebene untersucht wurden, sollen jetzt auch Funktionen, die auf verschiedenen Gebieten definiert sind, miteinander in Beziehung gesetzt werden, und zwar geschieht dies mit Hilfe des von Weierstraß ausgebildeten Verfahrens der analytischen Fortsetzung. Dieser für die gesamte Funktionentheorie fundamentale Begriff gestattet es nämlich, zwei Funktionen, etwa f1 (z) auf einem Gebiet Gl und f2 (z) auf einem Gebiet G2, als analytisch aequivalent oder nichtaequivalent zu erklären und damit den Begriff der Gesamtheit einer analytischen Funktion zu schaffen; von hier aus werden dann auch die mehrdeutigen Funktionen behandelt werden.
