Abstract

Zusammenfassung Der Aussagenkalkül, dem das vorige Kapitel gewidmet war, bildet nur einen Teil der Logik. Er ist zweifellos der am meisten fundamentale Teil — mindestens in dem Sinne, daß man sich beim Definieren von Begriffen und beim Formulieren und Begründen von logischen Lehrsätzen, die nicht zum Aussagenkalkül gehören, bereits der Begriffe und Lehrsätze dieses Kalküls bedient. An und für sich bildet aber der Aussagenkalkül keine hinreichende Basis für die Grundlegung der Mathematik: in mathematischen Definitionen, Lehrsätzen und Beweisen begegnet man unaufhörlich verschiedenen Begriffen aus anderen Teilen der Logik. Manche von ihnen sollen in diesem und in den folgenden zwei Kapiteln besprochen werden.
