Abstract

Zusammenfassung Die neueren Psychologen, wie z. B. Katz und Meumann, lehnen mit Recht die Anschauung ab, als könne ohne weiteres ein Unterrichtsgang im Rechnen empfohlen werden, der die Parallelität zwischen der Entwicklung des Kindes und der Stammesentwicklung als Leitfaden nimmt Es ist aber jedenfalls, wenn das kulturhistorische Studium bei Völkern, die in der Rechenkunst auf niedrigerer Entwicklungsstufe stehengeblieben sind als wir, gewisse Eigenheiten aufweist, die Frage berechtigt, ob diese Eigenheiten sich auch bei unsern Kindern finden und dementsprechend im Unterricht Berücksichtigung verlangen, gegebenenfalls, warum sie sich nicht vorfinden bzw. keine Berücksichtigung verlangen. Auf diese Weise kann dann das kulturhistorische Studium zur Förderung der Didaktik des Rechnens beitragen.
