Abstract

Zusammenfassung Die Kosmogonie gehört zu den Gebieten der exakten Naturwissenschaften, auf denen die Arbeiten der Außenseiter und Phantasten die der eigentlichen Fachleute an Zahl und Umfang weit übertreffen. Wie das perpetuum mobile die Erfinder nimmer ruhen läßt und für das Rätsel der Schwerkraft alljährlich neue Lösungen gegeben werden, so findet die Frage nach dem Werden und Vergehen der Welt immer wieder neue Beantwortungen. Und wenn auch fast alle der einmal aufgestellten Theorien durch andere widerlegt und abgelöst worden sind, so behaupten sie sich doch heute noch nahezu unverändert nebeneinander oder tauchen in leicht abgewandelter Form immer wieder auf. Dies ist nicht anders zu erwarten, wenn gesichertes Wissen sich auf ein Minimum reduziert und Hypothesen die fast ausschließliche Grundlage bilden.
