Die Verschiedenen Koordinatensysteme

Abstract

Zusammenfassung Koordinaten 1) kann man in der Geometrie allgemein als Zahlen definieren, durch die ein räumliches Gebilde in bezug auf andere, als gegeben angenommene Gebilde (die Fundamental- oder Grundgebilde) bestimmt wird2). Die letzteren bilden die Basis 3) der Koordinaten. Die verschiedenen Arten, auf die Raumgebilden Zahlengruppen als Koordinaten zugeordnet werden, geben die verschiedenen Koordinatensysteme. Bei den meisten von ihnen enthält die Basis jene Mannigfaltigkeiten von Elementen, für welche nur eine der Koordinaten nicht verschwindet. Zwei Koordinatensysteme werden als gleichartig angesehen, wenn, bei verschiedenen Basen, die Zuordnung der Zahlgruppen zu den Raumgebilden nach der gleichen Vorschrift erfolgt.
