Die Rollcurven

Abstract

Zusammenfassung Wenn eine Curve (M 0) auf einer in der Ebene festen Curve (M) fortgerollt wird, ohne dabei zu gleiten, so sagt man, dass (M 0) sich auf (M) abwickelt, die Curven, welche von den mit der beweglichen Curve fest verbundenen Punkten beschrieben werden, heissen Rollcurven, und die feste Curve ist die Basis dieser Rollcurven. Mit der Bezeichnung Rollcurve soll nicht eine Curve von specieller Natur gemeint sein (da ja bei passender Wahl von (M) und (M 0) jede Curve eine Rollcurve ist), sondern nur die Aufmerksamkeit auf eine Erzeugungsweise der betrachteten Curve gelenkt werden.
