Abstract

Zusammenfassung Nachfolge wird häufig aus der Perspektive des Übergebers betrachtet. Der Blick richtet sich auf dessen Loslassen, Verantwortung und Lebensleistung. Die Rolle des Nachfolgers erscheint demgegenüber oft als privilegiert: Er übernimmt ein bestehendes Unternehmen, erhält Vertrauen, Chancen und Gestaltungsspielraum. Diese Sichtweise greift psychologisch zu kurz. Für Nachfolger ist Unternehmensnachfolge eine der anspruchsvollsten Rollenübernahmen überhaupt. Sie erfolgt nicht schrittweise, sondern unter Beobachtung. Sie ist nicht neutral, sondern hoch aufgeladen. Und sie ist selten frei gewählt, sondern eingebettet in familiäre, organisationale und biografische Erwartungen.
