Abstract

The continuous development of employees is becoming increasingly important, especially in today’s world. Well-planned personnel development tailored to individual needs for all employees who wish to further develop themselves strengthens employee retention and ideally highlights various or alternative development paths within a company. The development options are vast and diverse, as there have never been as many and as cost-effective opportunities as today, both in terms of professional expertise and in the context of leadership and personal development. Furthermore, training and continuing education now offer ever more numerous possibilities for use through new methods such as adaptive or blended learning, up to AI-based learning systems, and the possibilities for individualization are also increasing significantly. Companies should definitely consider these many options so that people can develop within organizations according to their performance and personal development goals, thereby experiencing special appreciation. You will also learn in this chapter to what extent New Work influences this important phase of the employee journey. Finally, we provide best-practice examples, checklists, and examples for measurement using key figures and KPIs, as well as for collecting relevant data and information for this phase.
