Abstract

Chapter 6 delves into the topic of technological transformation and the role of supervisory and advisory boards in a disruptive environment. The practical report comes from Sabine Eckhardt, a supervisory board member and long-standing executive in the context of major transformation in the media industry. She explains why it is no longer sufficient in the face of disruption to only further develop the core business. While some companies simply modernize, new market participants revolutionize the entire industry—examples can be found in the current developments around artificial intelligence.
