Abstract

Zusammenfassung Inhaltlich geht der Beitrag der Frage nach, inwieweit Unternehmen in einem sich zunehmend verändernden und disruptiven Umfeld mit einer auf Nachhaltigkeit ausgerichteten Unternehmensführung ihre Wettbewerbschancen im globalen Markt erhöhen können. Am Beispiel der RENOLIT SE – einem global tätigen Familienunternehmen in der Kunststoffverarbeitung – wird deren Nachhaltigkeitsweg skizziert und die Herausforderungen, die sich in der konkreten Umsetzung und Verankerung in der Unternehmenskultur ergeben, aufgezeigt. Dabei wird auch erörtert, ob sich Nachhaltigkeit einerseits in bestehenden Geschäftsmodellen monetarisieren lässt und welche Strahlkraft – anhand konkreter Beispiele – sie andererseits auf die Unternehmens- und Arbeitgebermarke im gegebenen Wettbewerbsumfeld entfalten kann. Im Ausblick beschreibt der Autor auch die notwendigen Bedingungen, die den Weg in eine nachhaltigere Zukunft mit Freude am Wandel ebnen.
