Abstract

Zusammenfassung INFORM wurde im Jahr 1969 gegründet, um in der Praxis zu zeigen, dass systemisches Denken in Kombination mit höherer Mathematik und der intelligenten Nutzung von Daten dabei helfen kann, durch effiziente Ressourcennutzung die Wirtschaftlichkeit von Unternehmen zu steigern. Von Beginn an wurde Software entwickelt, die es den Nutzenden ermöglicht, die zunehmende Komplexität ihres Arbeitsalltag besser zu überblicken und informierter Entscheidungen zu treffen. Zunächst ging es um die Optimierung der Routen von Gabelstaplern, dann um zeiteffiziente Inventuren. Heute werden die KI-basierten INFORM-Lösungen sowohl an Flughäfen wie auch an Containerhäfen genutzt. Sie unterstützen in der Produktion, im Supply-Chain-Management, bei einer Vielzahl von Logistikprozessen, der Schichtplanung und bei der Bekämpfung von Finanzkriminalität. Seit 2019 wurde ein auf den UN-Nachhaltigkeitszielen gestütztes Zukunftsfähigkeitsverständnis aktiv in die Unternehmenskultur integriert. Dieser Beitrag berichtet über wichtige Bausteine dieses Prozesses.
