Abstract

Zusammenfassung Magische Quadrate vierter Ordnung sind erschöpfend behandelt und bereits Frénicle (1605–1674) entdeckte alle 880 magischen Quadrate dieser Ordnung, die aber erst nach seinem Tod im Jahre 1693 veröffentlicht wurden. Da jedes Quadrat durch Drehungen und Spiegelungen auf insgesamt acht verschiedene Arten dargestellt werden kann, gibt es insgesamt 8 . 880 = 7040 magische Quadrate vierter Ordnung.
