Abstract

Zusammenfassung Almut Steger (*27. September 1948 in Frankfurt am Main) machte Abitur am altsprachlichen Heinrich-von-Gagern-Gymnasium in Frankfurt. Nach einem Studium der Betriebswirtschaftslehre mit Schwerpunkt Statistik wurde sie Mitarbeiterin des SPES-Projektes (Sozialpolitisches Entscheidungs- und Indikatorensystem für die Bundesrepublik Deutschland) und des nachfolgenden legendären Sonderforschungsbereichs 3 (Sfb 3 – Mikroanalytische Grundlagen der Gesellschaftspolitik). Im Jahr 1979 promovierte sie zum Dr. rer. pol. mit der Arbeit „Haushalte und Familien in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland bis zum Jahr 2000 – Eine mikroanalytische Untersuchung“ (Steger 1980). Im Jahr 1980 wechselte sie zur Bundesbank und war dort zuletzt Leiterin der Abteilung Zahlungsbilanzstatistik und stellvertretende Leiterin des Zentralbereichs Statistik.
