Abstract

Zusammenfassung In diesem Kapitel präsentieren wir eine Integrationsmethode, die einerseits auf Fermat zurückgeht, dann aber auch in einer modernen Darstellung von Roger B. Nelsen „Proofs Without Words II“ (Nelsen 2000) wieder Verwendung gefunden hat. In der modernen Darstellung, die stark geometrisch inspiriert ist, werden wir sehen, wie Riemann-Rechtecke, die die Fläche unter einer Kurve approximieren, in Dreiecke umgewandelt werden. Diese Dreiecke werden in einem Punkt „gebündelt“. Auf diese Art entsteht eine neue Fläche mit demselben Flächeninhalt und wir können oftmals interessante Zusammenhänge zwischen Flächen unter verschiedenen Kurven finden. Im weiteren Verlauf wird die Methode dann noch auf dreidimensionale Körper ausgeweitet. Dort werden in einer Reihe von Beispielen dann Zusammenhänge für Volumina unter den verschiedensten Flächen gezeigt. Auf die Art wird noch viel bisher verschlossenes Potential der Methode auf einmal nutzbar.
