Zwei Methoden zur Integration bei Fermat

Abstract

Zusammenfassung Mitte des siebzehnten Jahrhunderts stellt Pierre de Fermat zwei Methoden zur Berechnung von Flächen unter Funktionsgraphen vor. Dabei benutzt er verschiedene Intervallaufteilungen. Einmal benutzt er äquidistante Intervalle. In der zweiten Methode werden jodoch Aufteilungen benutzt, wo die Intervalle unterschiedliche Längen haben. Beide Methoden haben Vor- und Nachteile und beide lassen sich noch auf Funktionstypen ausweiten, die Fermat damals selber nicht kannte. Auf die Art wird deutlich, dass beide Methoden ein noch ungenutztes Potential haben, das sich zu untersuchen lohnt.
