Abstract

Zusammenfassung Die Mathematik-Olympiaden (MO) sind einer der größten Mathematik-Wettbewerbe für Schülerinnen und Schüler in Deutschland. Vom äußeren Bild her handelt es bei der MO primär um einen Wettbewerb. Natürlich lebt die MO durch ihren Wettbewerbscharakter davon, sich an Problemen und Aufgaben zu messen. Aber nur den kompetitiven Charakter zu sehen, geht weit an der Praxis und der Intention der MO vorbei. Ebenso – und vielleicht auch vordringlich – bietet die MO im praktischen Förderungsalltag einen fast unbegrenzten Vorrat an strukturiertem Übungsmaterial, sorgfältig nach Altersstufe und Anspruchsgrad geordnet: Die online zur Verfügung stehenden Aufgaben können nach Bedarf zusammengesetzt werden und sind somit für jede Mathe-AG oder Talentförderung in Mathematik geeignet. In diesem Beitrag werden exemplarisch einige schöne Aufgaben vorgestellt. Zur Einführung geht es um formale Aspekte der MO wie ihre Entstehungsgeschichte, ihr Ziel und die Struktur der Teilnehmenden.
