Abstract

Zusammenfassung Damit das Potenzial eines kommunalen Nachhaltigkeitsmanagements voll ausgeschöpft werden kann, ist eine integrierende Orientierungs- und Vorgehensweise nahezu eine Conditio sine qua non. Integriert steht hier insbesondere leitbildorientiert/organisatorisch für eine strategisch-systematische Verankerung des Nachhaltigkeitsgedankens im Kommunalsystem, einen breitgefächerten beteiligungsorientierten Anspruchsgruppenbezug unter einem handlungsleitenden Partizipationsrahmen sowie ein synergieschöpfendes gezielt abgestimmtes Aktivitäts- und Maßnahmenportfolio. Ein integriertes Management der Nachhaltigkeitsaktivitäten in Kommunen begründet demnach einen Mehrwert in Richtung orientierungsgebender konzeptioneller Systematik, einem breit abgestimmten Bürger/innen-Einbezug sowie höherer maßnahmenbezogener Wirkungsintensität. Eine integrierende Vorgehensweise ist aber mit verschiedenen Herausforderungen in Kommunen verbunden und damit bei Weitem kein „Selbstläufer“.
