Abstract

Zusammenfassung Uns wird in Deutschland viel zugemutet was Zahlenangaben betrifft oder Schlussfolgerungen daraus in Gestalt von Politikerreden, Zeitungsartikeln, Statistiken etc. Gewerkschaftliche Erfolgsmeldungen oder solche der Arbeitgeber zeigen viel zu oft einen sprachlich-logisch wie rechnerisch ungehobelten Stil. Teilweise ist es ganz einfach nur die Art der graphischen Darstellung. Selbst dann, wenn die kommunizierte Angabe streng genommen richtig ist, kann sie vollkommen unterschiedliche Eindrücke erwecken, wenn im Balkendiagrammen die Längen nicht im angegebenen Verhältnis stehen. Dann geht der relative Eindruck völlig verloren und man transportiert damit einen unpassenden Eindruck. Das mag beabsichtigt gewesen sein, aber es entspricht nicht den Gegebenheiten.
