Abstract

Zusammenfassung Nachhaltigkeit ist in aller Munde und Lippenbekenntnisse reichen nicht mehr. Es ist höchste Zeit, dass auf Worte nun Taten folgen. Allzu oft schmücken sich Unternehmen mit grünen Lorbeeren, betreiben im Alltagsgeschäft aber weitgehend „business as usual“. Nach wie vor gibt es Situationen, in denen die Aktivitäten von Firmen mit gesellschaftlichen Wertvorstellungen und ökologischen Belangen kollidieren. Dabei ist der Bedarf nach echter, transformativer Nachhaltigkeit akuter denn je, da Kund*innen und Investor*innen überprüfbare Nachhaltigkeit fordern. Unternehmerische Aktivitäten müssen daher nicht nur kurzfristig nachhaltig scheinen, sondern eine tatsächliche, langfristige Transformation bewirken. Greenwashing und umweltschädliches Verhalten werden in Zukunft die Existenz von Unternehmen gefährden. Investition in Nachhaltigkeit hingegen ist eine Investition in die Zukunft des Unternehmens und birgt viele Chancen.
