Abstract

Zusammenfassung Das lineare Wirtschaftsmodell, in dem ein Großteil der eingesetzten Ressourcen nach Beendigung des Lebenszyklus verbrannt wird oder auf der Deponie landet, hat ausgedient. Dieser Take-make-waste-Ansatz ist weder nachhaltig, somit mitverantwortlich für die Klimakrise, noch ist er wirtschaftlich sinnvoll, da eine Unmenge an wertvollen Rohstoffen und Nebenprodukten der Produktion verloren gehen und nicht genutzt werden. Unternehmensziele, die rein auf die Steigerung von Absatzzahlen fokussieren, führen in diesem Wirtschaftsmodell einerseits zu einem erhöhten Ressourcenverbrauch auf der Inputseite, andererseits steht Langlebigkeit der Produkte oft nicht an erster Stelle. So wird versucht, durch eine geplante Obsoleszenz den Lebenszyklus eines Produktes künstlich zu verkürzen, um Kund*innen zu einem raschen Neukauf zu bewegen. Nun zeigt sich aber, dass die Mittel der Erde endlich sind, Rohstoffpreise volatiler werden und dass sich in unseren Abfällen wertvolle Rohstoffe befinden.
