Abstract

Zusammenfassung Das Konzept der Kreislaufwirtschaft gilt derzeit als vielversprechende Alternative zur derzeit vorherrschenden Linearwirtschaft mit ihrem Take-make-waste-Ansatz. Traditionelle Geschäftsmodelle mit einer linearen Logik ignorieren häufig die Endlichkeit der Erdressourcen und fühlen sich nach erfolgreichem Verkauf ihrer Produkte auch nicht mehr verantwortlich für die Benutzung und vor allem Entsorgung (Ellen MacArthur Foundation, 2013; Geissdoerfer et al., 2017). Die Externalitäten aus dem Wirtschaften der vergangenen Jahrzehnte – Umweltverschmutzung, Klimawandel, Überbeanspruchung natürlicher Ressourcen, Biodiversitätsverlust und vieles mehr – zeigen jedoch, dass dieser Ansatz alles andere als nachhaltig und mittlerweile sogar lebensbedrohlich geworden ist. Darüber hinaus gehen auf diese Weise wertvolle Ressourcen und Bestandteile aus Produkten, die teilweise ohne Qualitätsverlust wiederverwendet werden könnten, verloren.
