Abstract

Zusammenfassung In der Nachhaltigkeitsdebatte ist es weitgehend wissenschaftlicher Konsens, dass Wirtschaftswachstum im Zusammenhang mit Ressourcenverbrauch und Umweltschädigung steht – etwa durch den Ausstoß von schädlichen Chemikalien oder Treibhausgasen. Dabei wird oft betont, dass eine Entkoppelung solcher Umweltauswirkungen vom Wirtschaftswachstum durch Effizienz- oder Produktivitätssteigerung nicht nur möglich ist, sondern in den letzten Jahren in einigen Ländern auch schon stattfindet.
