Abstract

People are born with an enormous range of behavioral possibilities. The training of the much narrower behavior takes place within the framework of socialization. The limits of usual and acceptable behavior are set by the norms of the group to which the individual belongs. The human being is creator and creature of culture. Socialization in professional life does not take place unilaterally, unreflectively, but as social interaction processes. The social role refers to the diverse reciprocal relationships between the individual and society. People are on a “stage” and play different roles, have their appearance under different auspices and circumstances (Henecka 2009, p. 100). An effective compliance does not take this fact passively, but uses it actively for its own purposes. The habits of the individual CO are consciously reflected and, if necessary, adapted. Not in order to “sell oneself in a streamlined way”, but to invest in relationship management with the contacts by means of sympathy. The positive consequences are illustrated by means of examples.
