Abstract

Zusammenfassung Das Wintersemester 1918/19 war ein ganz besonderes. Es begann, wie schon die acht vorangegangenen, im Krieg. Doch im Unterschied zu diesen endete es erstmals seit mehr als vier Jahren im Frieden. Am 29. September hatte Erich Ludendorff Kaiser und Reichsleitung darüber in Kenntnis gesetzt, dass der Krieg mit militärischen Mitteln nicht mehr zu gewinnen sei. Als am Tag drauf an der Philipps-Universität Marburg der Vorlesungsbetrieb begann, konnte zu diesem Zeitpunkt noch niemand wissen, dass im Verlaufe des Semesters ein Stück weit Normalität an die deutschen Universitäten zurückkehren würde.
