Abstract

Zusammenfassung Soft- und Hardware regulieren die dem Internet zugrunde liegende Architektur. In der digitalen Welt bestimmt ein Stück Software den Lauf der Dinge. Zu Recht kann der Eindruck entstehen, dass ein Programmcode Bedingungen festlegt, die als unumstößlich gelten. Die Blockchain-Technologie als eine Facette der Digitalisierung kann sich nicht von diesem Ansatz ausnehmen. Und doch gehört mehr zur Technologie im weiteren Sinne als „nur“ das Schreiben von Programmzeilen. Daher wird in diesem Kapitel über die Aussage nachgedacht, was „The code is the law“ im Kontext der Blockchain-Technologie bedeutet.
