Abstract

Zusammenfassung The registration of the EU-Russia Civil Society Forum’s (CSF) legal entity in Germany in 2017 and transferring a 150-member NGO network into it is an example of a generational change. Overall, legal incorporation, negotiations and transition of business into the new entity took about 1.5 years of everyday engagement and 3 years from ‘start to finish’. CSF Executive Director Anna Sevortian sees reorganisation and change in NGOs as an opportunity for structural improvements and leadership. It is also as a time to step up communications, prepare to negotiate for months and invest in thorough planning and best advice available.
