Abstract

Zusammenfassung Wir wissen inzwischen, dass es gewisse genetische Unterschiede zwischen den Geschlechtern gibt (X- und Y-Chromosome) und dass das Geschlecht durch die Ausschüttung von Hormonen bedingt wird. Als Folge der Testosteronproduktion bei Männern sind nämlich gerade die Bereiche im Gehirn gut ausbildet, die beispielsweise für das zeitlich-räumliche Zurechtkommen wichtig sind. Das Vorurteil, dass Männer besser einparken als Frauen, stimmt also in den meisten Fällen. Genauso ist aber auch anzuerkennen, dass solche Ausprägungen durch Erziehung und Umfeld noch gefördert werden können. Ein Junge bekommt möglicherweise schon früher ein Fahrrad oder einen Roller als ein Mädchen. Gerald Hüther hat diese neurobiologischen Erkenntnisse anschaulich in seinem Buch „Männer. Das schwache Geschlecht und sein Gehirn“ (2016) beschrieben.
