Abstract

Zusammenfassung Gibt es eine natürliche Grenze für das maximale menschliche Lebensalter oder können wir theoretisch unendlich lange auf Erden leben? Die menschliche Sterblichkeit verstehen und nachbilden zu können, ist von großem sozialem und ökonomischen Interesse. In diesem kurzen Ausflug erklären wir anschaulich, wie man das menschliche Höchstalter mit Hilfe statistischer Methoden abschätzen kann und erläutern dabei Antwortmöglichkeiten auf die beiden obigen Fragen.
