Abstract

Zusammenfassung Statistik befasst sich mit Daten, und Daten bestehen aus Zahlen. So denken die meisten Menschen aus dem Bauch heraus. Aber als Folge der IT-Revolution gerieten auch ganz andere Dinge in den Fokus der Wissenschaft Statistik, darunter auch Texte. Die werden zwar schon seit vielen Jahrhunderten in großen Mengen von verschiedensten Quellen erzeugt. Aber erst seit Kurzem ermöglicht die zunehmende Digitalisierung von Texten und die damit einhergehende Verfügbarkeit von Texten in großen Textsammlungen, die in den Textdaten enthaltene Information strukturiert und automatisiert zu analysieren. Die Statistik liefert hierfür viele hilfreiche Methoden, sowohl zur Verarbeitung der Daten als auch für die Interpretation bei inhaltlichen Fragen.
