Abstract

Zusammenfassung Die Drei ist in der europäischen Musik, und nur um die geht es hier, keine ungewöhnliche Zahl– man denke an Trios, Terzette, den Dreivierteltakt, dreisätzige Instrumentalkonzerte. In diesem Kapitel werden aus dieser überreichen Fülle zwei Aspekte herausgegriffen. Wir sehen uns Dreiklänge an, die uns einen Zugang zu elementaren Fragen der Harmonielehre geben und uns in einer Restklassengruppe rechnen lassen. Dann schauen wir uns an, wie und wo sich die Drei in einzelnen Opern und der Bach’schen h-Moll-Messe finden lässt. Zwischendurch sprechen wir über einfache Transformationen, mit denen Musiker ihre Konstruktionen vorantreiben.
