Abstract

Zusammenfassung Wenn Statistik nur ein Nebenfach ist, fehlt den Hörenden oft der Bezug zur statistischen Darstellung von Sachverhalten aus ihrem Fach. In Punkt- und Streudiagrammen werden die Stichprobenelemente zu Punkten. Diese Abstraktion ist in Zeiten hochauflösender Grafik unnötig. An den Forschungsgegenstand kann angeknüpft werden. Die modulare Statistik-Programmiersprache R ist den meisten Statistiklehrenden geläufig und bietet entsprechende Möglichkeiten. Für einige grundlegende Konzepte und etliche übliche Zähleinheiten werden Diagramme und Symbole bereitgestellt. Die Konzepte: Gradient und Regression, Cluster, faktorieller Plan und gemeinsame Verteilung können für Dutzende Stichprobenelemente, darunter Mensch, Frau, Mann, Familie, Dorsch, Maus, Zebrafisch, Drosophila, C. elegans, E. coli, Hefe, Arabidopsis, Getreide, Schwein, Laub- und Nadelbaum, Knochen Modellorganismus usw. dargestellt werden. Dabei werden neben der Lage in der Zeichenebene auch die Größe und die Farbe zur Darstellung von Variablen eingesetzt. Da dieses Werkzeug hier erstmals vorgestellt wird, können keine Erfahrungen aus der Lehrpraxis berichtet werden.
