Abstract

Zusammenfassung Von dem Gelehrten Jordanus Nemorarius, auch Jordanus de Nemore genannt, kennt man keine biografischen Einzelheiten. Lange Zeit dachte man, dass er möglicherweise identisch mit dem Dominikanermönch Jordanus de Saxonia (um 1185–1237) sei, wie der Autor eines Oxforder Manuskripts genannt wird. Der Bibliothekar Richard de Fournival aus Amiens führte im Katalog Biblionomia aus der Zeit von 1246 bis 1260 zwölf seiner Werke an; daraus lässt sich schließen, dass Jordanus im ersten Viertel des 13. Jahrhunderts gelebt haben muss.
