Abstract

Zusammenfassung Das Aufkommen und die rasante Weiterentwicklung der elektronischen Datenverarbeitung (EDV) in den letzten Jahrzehnten, eröffneten in vielen Ingenieurdisziplinen vollkommen neue Möglichkeiten. So lassen sich viele physikalische Vorgänge, die früher ausschließlich in einem Versuch nachgebildet werden konnten, heute auf dem Rechner simulieren. Während der Versuch in der Regel ein Modell oder eine Istausführung benötigt, kann die Simulation schon in einem Vorstadium der Entwicklung eingesetzt werden. Ein wichtiges Einsatzgebiet der Simulation ist das der Strukturmechanik. Sie ermöglicht in diesem Rahmen die Berechnung von Verformungen, Spannungen, Temperaturen und anderen Größen von beliebig komplizierten Bauteilen.
