Recurring Sequences

Abstract

The modern directions of development of the recurrent sequence theory: from the classical theory of linear recurrences over a field up to the recently theory of polylinear recurrences over bimodules are discussed. We present a sketch of applications of existing results, in particular, to the theory of error-correcting codes, to techniques of construction of pseudo-random sequences and to cryptography.
