Abstract

Zusammenfassung Organisationsstrukturen legen fest, wie Aufgaben gefasst, Ressourcen verteilt und organisatorische Einheiten gebildet werden. Prägend ist dabei das Spannungsfeld von Spezialisierung und Integration. Spezialisierung ermöglicht Professionalisierung und Effizienz. Integration soll sicherstellen, dass die entstehenden Aufgabenbereiche auf gemeinsame Ziele ausgerichtet sind. Dies erfordert in der Regel eine hierarchische Ordnung, die Entscheidungsrechte zuweist, Verantwortung bündelt und die arbeitsteilige Zusammenarbeit steuert. Dieses Kapitel zeigt, dass organisatorische Gestaltung weit über Organigramme und Berichtslinien hinausgeht. Sie antizipiert Wertschöpfung und konfiguriert die Bedingungen, unter denen individuelle Leistungen ausgelöst und koordiniert werden. Unterschiedliche Strukturmodelle eröffnen jeweils eigene Wege, Effizienz und Innovation miteinander zu verbinden. Zugleich werden Eigendynamiken angestoßen, deren Verlauf nur begrenzt vorhersehbar ist. Erst im Zusammenwirken mit den anderen Management-Aufgaben wird sichtbar, wie intensiv organisatorische Gestaltung erforderlich ist und wo ihre Grenzen verlaufen.
