Abstract

Zusammenfassung In diesem Kapitel wird begründet, warum ein – nicht wirklich – neues Leitprinzip in die Nachhaltigkeitsdebatte eingebracht wird. Als Ausgangspunkte dienen eine Skizze des weltweit betriebenen Nachhaltigkeitsprojekts und Ergebnisse aus Analysen und Diskussionen zum Stand und zu Perspektiven des Weges in eine nachhaltige Wirtschaft und Gesellschaft (Abschn. 1.1). Anschließend werden Grundlagen zum Verständnis und zur Gestaltung einer nachhaltigen Ökonomie in Werken von Klassikern der Umweltökonomik in Erinnerung gebracht (Abschn. 1.2) und Erkenntnisprobleme der Marktökonomik erörtert (Abschn. 1.3). Damit können Grundlagen für eine Neuorientierung in der Nachhaltigkeitsdebatte gelegt werden: ein erweitertes Verständnis vom Wirtschaften als Haushalten und von der breiten institutionellen Haushaltsökonomie in Verknüpfung mit der Gemeinwirtschaft (Abschn. 1.4). Ein Resümee fasst die Ergebnisse zusammen und gibt einen Ausblick auf die folgenden Kapitel (Abschn. 1.5).
