Abstract

Zusammenfassung Gerade in Zeiten wirtschaftlicher Unsicherheit, sich stetig ändernder Marktumgebungen und -bedingungen sowie im Spannungsfeld zwischen Fachkräftemangel und der durch die künstliche Intelligenz (KI) veränderten Arbeitswelt kommt dem Projektportfoliomanagement (PPM) eine Schlüsselrolle zu: Je knapper die Ressourcen, desto wichtiger ist die Auswahl der „richtigen“ Investitionen, die schnelle Anpassung des Portfolios an Änderungen in der Umgebung sowie auf auftretende Probleme im Umsetzungsprozess. Ausgehend von einer kurzen historischen Einordnung analysiert der vorliegende Beitrag aktuelle Entwicklungen der Praxis und zeigt auf, wie Unternehmen die Priorisierung und Steuerung ihres Projektportfolios transparent, strategiekonform und resilient gestalten können. Ein besonderes Augenmerk liegt auf dem Übergang von traditionellen zu agilen Vorgehensmodellen, der gewachsenen Bedeutung des Ressourcenmanagements sowie den Potenzialen und Grenzen von KI im PPM. Neben einer Einordnung des aktuellen Forschungsstands werden die Ergebnisse einer Umfrage unter europäischen Unternehmen vorgestellt und durch praxisnahe Einblicke in aktuelle Herausforderungen und Lösungsansätze ergänzt.
