Abstract

Zusammenfassung Berufliche Traumatisierung beschreibt eine tiefgreifende seelische Erschütterung, die durch überwältigende Erfahrungen im Arbeitskontext entsteht, insbesondere in Berufen mit hoher emotionaler, moralischer und körperlicher Belastung wie Polizei, Feuerwehr, Rettungsdienst oder psychosozialer Versorgung. Das Kapitel beleuchtet Definition, Erscheinungsformen und Abgrenzung des Traumabegriffs im beruflichen Kontext. Es unterscheidet zwischen Monotraumata, kumulativen und sekundären Traumatisierungen sowie moralischen Verletzungen (Moral Injury). Anhand eines dreiphasigen Verlaufsschemas (akut, subakut, chronisch) wird die Dynamik traumatischer Prozesse nachvollziehbar dargestellt. Ergänzt durch typische Symptome und Einflussfaktoren auf Verarbeitung und Chronifizierung, zeigt das Kapitel die vielschichtigen Auswirkungen auf Psyche, Privatleben und berufliche Funktionsfähigkeit. Es verdeutlicht, dass berufliche Traumatisierung Ausdruck extrem belastender Bedingungen ist und damit auch eine Frage organisationaler Mitverantwortung. Ein sensibler, differenzierter Umgang verlangt Fachwissen, Haltung und eine strukturelle Fürsorgekultur.
