Abstract

Zusammenfassung Dieses Kapitel beschreibt, wie mittelständische Unternehmen den Weg von der ersten Idee bis zur dauerhaften Nutzung von KI-Anwendungen gestalten können. Es führt durch die zentralen Phasen eines KI-Projekts – von der Konkretisierung eines Anwendungsfalls über Pilotierung, Skalierung und Verstetigung bis hin zur Erfolgsmessung. Dabei werden unterschiedliche Vorgehensweisen, Entscheidungsoptionen und organisatorische Fragen beleuchtet, etwa zur Auswahl geeigneter Use Cases, zur Rolle von Daten und Infrastruktur, zur Einbindung von Mitarbeitenden, zu externen Partnern und Fördermöglichkeiten sowie zu Governance- und Steuerungsmechanismen. Ergänzend werden praxisnahe Handlungsempfehlungen, Checklisten und Kriterien vorgestellt, die Orientierung bei Planung, Umsetzung und Weiterentwicklung bieten. Das Kapitel schafft damit einen strukturierten Überblick über typische Projektverläufe und Gestaltungsoptionen für KI-Initiativen im Mittelstand.
